CertiVox Labs

The Research Center of CertiVox Ltd.

CertiVox Labs is the research center of CertiVox Ltd. Through its applied research program and academic collaborations, CertiVox Labs provides state-of-the-art expertise in cryptography and data security. The primary mission of CertiVox Labs is the advancement of elliptic curve and pairing-based cryptographic research. Pairing-based cryptography is a ground breaking innovation that enables a new class of capabilities for which there are no other efficient implementations. Commercialising these capabilities delivers security agility for a next-generation of mobile devices and embedded systems which tomorrow’s Internet will depend upon.

CertiVox as a company participates in a number of standards bodies, including the OASIS standards committees for the Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) and Trust Elevation.

CertiVox Labs is headed by Dr. Michael Scott. Prior to joining CertiVox, Dr. Scott was Head of the Dublin City University School of Computing and CEO of Shamus Software Ltd. He is recognized in the world of cryptography as a leading authority on the subject of elliptic curve and pairing-based cryptography, and in 2002, together with Paulo Barreto and colleagues published one of the seminal papers on the implementation of pairings, “Efficient algorithms for pairing-based cryptosystems.” Now, as director of CertiVox Labs, Dr. Scott will be pioneering the advancement of the cryptography that he helped to develop.
